North Carolina
Conference DRUSA coordinator working with 4 Disaster Recovery Teams. DRT from Axton,. Va (WNC) on alert to go to Wilson- host pastorhas housing and disaster assignments. Contact with Kinston Red Cross on possible work sites has been coordinated.

Re-cap:

  • Goldsboro-3 pastors have lost homes as well as a number of church members.
  • Greenville- 15 church families have lost homes.
  • Carson Memorial-30 church families lost homes. In trying to account for damage- it appears there are close to 100 church families who might have lost homes. (no definite)

NOTE: David Callahan, director of N.E.T. MultiMedia, and I have toured the Goldsboro area with Pastor Jimmy Whitfield and video taped the damage and talked to several who have been touched by the floods. We'll try and be in Kinston, Greenville and Tarboro tomorrow and obtain a visual record as well as interviews on what has happened and is happening.We have been notified that there is a possibility for the donation of several mobile homes that might be released to us for use in the target area..
