Sonshine Conference - No reported damage 9/20/99. Georgia - No change since 9/18/99 report. South Carolina - Potential major flood damage possible on Wednesday/Thursday in Horry County, due to flood waters from the north. Flood stage now is 7 feet and water expected to rise to 17 feet. Evacuation in parts of county on-going. Highway 501 now closed except for one lane, which might be closed on Wednesday. Flooding has potential to endanger four churches .. Lakewood, Conway, East Conway and Waccamaw. Minor damage to conference building (covered by insurance). South Carolina Mobile Feeding Kitchen will move out Wednesday morning for Kinston, NC and be operational Thursday at 6:00 a.m. Eastern Virginia - Power loss reported throughout conference area, with limited contact to churches. Reports that have been received indicate .. New Hope PHC flood damage and some report of loss of personal items. Olivet Lakes PHC one family reporting flood damage. Reports from three districts still pending. Mid Atlantic - pending. North Carolina - Goldsboro and Kinston areas .. water still rising, expected to crest Wednesday. Hardest hit areas at present time appear to be Tarboro, Kinston, Greenville, Wilson, Rocky Mount and Wallace. The SC Mobile Feeding Kitchen will link up with the NC DRUSA Coordinator for positioning in the Kinston area on Wednesday. With rivers in the area still on the rise, further damage and casualties are expected in future reports, and the potential for increased damage and loss is significant. Support requested - Financial support may be sent to People to People, designated for DRUSA support. Materials requested for this disaster include the following items:
