The following is an update of relief support activities for the reporting period 9/13/05.

1. Alpha Conference-(a) ten churches in the conference are assisting the support of the SC Mobile Feeding Kitchen (MFK) and the New Horizons Ministry Distribution Point at Moss Point, AL. Lou Shirey managed the Distribution Point  and Donavan Tinsley is the Director for the MFK. (b) Calvary Chapel Ministries provided a tanker of gasoline to the New Horizon Ministries Distribution Point Point- the gas went fast. (c) City of Refuge Ministries based in Atlanta,GA is sending a semi of supplies next Tuesday, as is a Winter Haven,FL based ministry with connections to Randy and Paula White’s –Church Without Walls. Another shipment is expected from the Macon, GA region from a Methodist group.

2. South Carolina Conference-(a) The SC Mobile Feeding Kitchen reports that 5,450 meals were served today. Of that amount 2,400 were trucked out by 5 American Red Cross ERVs.(b) Christian Assembly in Florence has a 16 person team on stand by.(c) Sandra Coker has been appointed as the Conference DRUSA. (d) The MFK has been supplied with communications by the Red Cross to coordinate between the MFK and the ERVs. (e) The Red Cross has also supplies the MFK with a satellite phone and a wireless computer for use in contact with the Red Cross.

3. North Carolina Conference- (a)the MFK support team from Kinston First is on site with the MFK at Moss Point,Al. (b) Teams on stand by to deploy to the Gulf area are now on hold to be ready to respond to Hurricane Ophelia.

4. New Horizons Conference- the conference is coordinating with the Mississippi Conference to determine a location for goods and materials to be delivered. The collections points at Bragg and Tiger Mountain are both operational.

5. Redemption Ministries- The conference team has returned from their first trip to Ocean Springs, MS-they are deploying another team in three to four weeks. In their after action report-several short observations: (a) they were permitted to cross over the restriction boundaries to the beach area and saw miles and miles of debris left from homes and business-and they observed search and rescue teams at work…and were able to serve meals to them as well as cold ice tea to hundreds of National Guard troops.

6. Grace Bible Conference- Christian Life Center is sending an 18 wheeler of supplies (baby supplies, water, food, bedding, personal hygiene items) to the Jackson Revival Center in Jackson, MS. This load was going to Mid South but was diverted by Mid South to meet a need in Mississippi Conference.

7. Upper South Carolina Conference-(a) the team from Breakout ministries departed for Ocean Springs. Miss, (b) Teams are on stand by for Ocean Springs,Miss and to support the SC MFK(c) the team from Iva PHC has completed its time and is returning  home.

8. Mississippi Conference_ The pending agreement between Ocean Springs PHC and a nearby AOG church has been approved-- for a distribution point. The AOG facility will provide the storage for the goods and materials, there is a need at this location for support teams-debris clean up.
