The following is an update of relief support activities for the reporting period September 9-10, 2005:

1. Redemption Ministries Conference – The team that has been deployed in the Mississippi conference at Long Beach, Ms is on the way back to Redemption Ministries. The conference will deploy a second team in two weeks…that will return to  the church that they were supporting and also  assist that church in establishing a feeding site/distribution center in another church.

2. South Carolina Conference- the conference Mobile Feeding Kitchen remains on site at Moss Point co- located with the Alpha conference distribution point. Reports on meals served will be covered in the next report due to communication problems with the site. The MFK Director is now Rev Donovan Tinsley of the Destiny Church in St Augustine,Fl-Sonshine Conference. The  Life Springs church will deploy a MKF support team Sept 14-21 to the S. C. Mobile Feeding Kitchen. A second Life Springs MFK team is on stand by. The church has offered to assist three evacuee families to relocate.

3. Alpha Conference- Five churches from  the conference are now providing assistance to  the Mobile Feeding Kitchen in Moss Point. The distribution center at the Moss Point distributed supplies to 1,420 people including, personal hygiene kits,  food supplies for three days, baby supplies, bleach and cleaning equipment, water, drinks and ice. The General Electric unit in Wilmington, NC dropped off a 50 ft trailer of lumber and three 24 foot vans of supplies.

4. Mid South Conference- distribution point at Faith Family is now providing supplies to five other churches in general area for distribution. 80 evacuees are in their shelter- expect 30 to be relocated to family members in the general area or other housing/rentals, then expect others to come in to the shelter. Priority needs at this site are for a refrigeration unit to house frozen foods/meat and for a support team that can stay four days to help run the distribution site. The Wednesday evening service with the youth saw 18 teenage evacuees receive Christ.

5. North Carolina Conference- the Kinston First MFK support team deployed 9/10  to the S. C. Mobile Feeding Kitchen at Moss Point, Al.  Kinston First has another MFK support team on standby. Clinton church will deploy a debris clean up team to Bethel Fellowship church in the Mid-South Conference  on Monday.  Dr Mike Giger (Northwood), Sam Jones (Ministries of Mercy) and Anne Williams-wife the NC DRUSA are coordinating a supply of across the counter medical supplies to a relief center in Houma, La-the Mid South Conference. The Ministries of Mercy (Kinston) warehouse will serve as the NC Women’s Ministries collection point for personal packets.

6. Upper South Carolina Conference- Breakthrough Outreach church has a debris clean up team deploying Monday to the Victory Worship Center in Ocean Springs, Mississippi-the team is carrying chain saws, a bob cat and other clean up items. The Iva church MFK support team remains on site in Moss Point. A second MFK support team is on standby by for October.

7. Tennessee Valley Conference- the conference dispatched a supply trailer of supplies and water to  the Mid South Conference. The conference Bishop is in Mid South and coordinating the relocation of 30 evacuees back to the TV conference retreat center. Two debris clean up teams (from Galilee Outreach and a Baptist church in the same town) will deploy on Sunday- Sept 11 to the Faith Family church in the Mid South Conference. On Wednesday, September 14, a semi-truck of supplies will leave Friendship World Outreach in Waverly, TN for the Mid South conference…a second truck is on stand by to deploy several days later. The conference retreat center is a conference collection point as well as Friendship World Outreach church.
