The following is an Update on DRUSA activities as of 3:45 p.m. EDT September 26, 2004. A. Current Situation‑ 1. Tropical Storm Jeanne‑ at 2:00 p.m. EDT the center of Jeanne was loathed about 20 miles Southeast of Brooksville, Fl moving toward the Northwest near 10 mph...maximum sustained winds are near 70 mph. Rainfall totals of 5 to 10 inches are possible near the path of Jeanne and isolated tornados are possible over portions of the Central and Northern Florida peninsula and Southeastern Georgia today. 2. Tropical Storm Lisa‑ at 11:00 a.m. AST the center of Lisa was about 1470 miles West of the Cape Verde Islands moving toward the North‑Northwest near 9 mph..maximum sustained winds are near 60 mph.. 3. Update from the Florida State Response team as of 1400 hours, September 26... a. Shelters‑ 292 established with 61,947 customers‑‑‑and 62 special shelters with 1,242 customers. b. Fatalities/Injuries‑ none reported as of this time, c. Power Outages‑ 938,800 customers without power. B. IPHC Items‑ 1. The South Carolina Mobile Feeding Kitchen (MFK)‑ Administrator is Kenny Ward from LifeSprings PHC (SC)..Meals fed on Saturday were 6,860‑‑‑walk‑ins were 3,660 and distributed by the American Red Cross ERVs(5)‑ were 3,200. Tomorrow the MFK team will change over as Rev Franklin Morris and his team will arrive from Lake City, SC. Today‑ the American Red Cross was unable to deliver the full amount of re‑supply and therefore the MFK fed only one meal ‑4,500. Of this amount 1,500 were walk‑ins and 3,000 were sent out by 6 ERVs‑ tomorrow they are being told to expect 6 or 7 ERVs. 2. Planned MFK support is as reported in yesterdays Update‑primarily from the Alpha Conference as the Kinston team returns to North Carolina. Wednesday through Sunday the MFK support will be the Celebration Center and New Vision (Alpha) at present.... 3. Lessons Learned‑ As the hurricane moves North and other Conferences are hit with damage‑we assume that there will be a need for (a) debris/chain saw clean up teams‑‑‑(b) if teams are committed to this or MFK support‑ please insure that all teams members fill out the "Assumption of Risk" form...and (c) if work is done on anyone's property‑insure that they‑the homeowner‑ has filled out the "Understanding form".... both these forms are attached...
