The following is an Update on the DRUSA activities as of 3:30 p.m. EDT‑September 25, 2004:

A. Current Situation‑

1. Hurricane Jeanne‑ battering the Northwest Bahamas..At 1:00 p.m. EDT the eye of Jeanne was located about 135 miles East of the Southeastern coast of Florida or 35 miles Northeast of Freeport, Grand Bahama Island...it is moving a little North of due West near 14 mph....it will approach the Southeastern coast of Florida tonight or early Sunday..hurricane winds are expected to spread inland across much of the Florida peninsula. Jeanne is a Category 3 hurricane with winds near 115 mph..with higher gusts...some additional strengthening is possible before landfall in Florida. Storm surge flooding of 4 to 6 feet above normal  tide levels.. and on the west side of Florida tides of 1 tom 3 feet above normal are possible..reaching 3 to 6 feet in areas of onshore flow  North of Tampa Bay...isolated tornadoes are possible over portions of East Florida today‑Rainfall totals of 5 to 10 inches..with isolated higher amounts are possible  .

2. Topical Storm Lisa‑

1. at 11:00 a.m. AST the center was about 1435 West of the Cape Verde island..moving toward the Northwest near 9 mph...maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph..

B. IPHC Items‑

1.The South Carolina Mobile Feeding Kitchen (MFK) is in operation in Pensacola‑ Rev Donavan Tinsley(Sonshine) is the current Administrator‑‑ he will move out with his Destiny International Church team at 4:00 p.m. today and Kenney Ward from LifeSprings Worship Center(South Carolina) will take over then. The MFK for Friday fed 6,800 meals‑ a new record‑ with 2,100 walk‑ins and 4,700 meals being taken and disbursed by 6 America Red Cross ERVs. The MFK expects 7 ERVs today.

2. Current MFK support is from (a) Kinston First (NC), Central Chapel (Al) Destiny International (Sonshine) and members of the Alpha Staff. On Sunday the MFK support will be taken up by Celebration Center (Al), Alpha  Conf Staff, White House PHC (Al),  and Day Star Christian Ctr (Al), and Central Chapel (Al).

3. MFK Support Wednesday‑Sunday tentatively is Celebration Center (Al), New Vision (Al). so far......

C. Lesson Learned‑

1. From past Hurricanes‑now is the time to prepare for the movement as  Jeanne moves up the coat of Florida , Georgia and the Carolinas and Virginia.. Conference DRUSA's should try and establish contact with Men's Ministries and Women's Ministries chapters in order to identify (a) debris/chain saw teams‑ and when they can move.( b) those churches  that will collect supplies for shipment to target areas (c) identify churches or other buildings where supplies could be brought in... an distributed from. (d) identify and have means of communication with churches in the various regions of the conference to identify needs that might occur from Jeanne.
