The following is an Update on our disaster response for September 20, 2004:

A. Current Situation‑

1. Hurricane Karl‑ At 11:00 a.m. ASD the center of Karl was located about 1010 miles East‑Northeast of the Lesser Antilles...moving toward the Northwest near 10 mph...maximum sustained winds are near 120 mph...could restrengthen to a Category 4 hurricane over the next day or so..

2. Tropical Storm Jeanne‑getting better organized East of the Bahamas...at 11:00 a.m. AST the center was about 345 miles East of Great Abaco Island...moving toward the North‑Northeast at near 7 mph..maximum sustained winds are near 65 mph...some strengthening is expected and it could regain hurricane status later today.

3. Tropical Storm Lisa‑ at 11:00 a.m. AST the center was about 160 miles West of Cape Verde Islands...movement toward the West near 12 mph...and sustained maximum winds are near 60 mph.

4. Tropical Depression Javier... at 8:00 p.m. PDT the remnant of Javier was located about 180 miles Southwest of El Paso, TX..movement to the Northeast at 25 mph..maximum sustained winds near 10‑20 mph.

B. IPHC Items‑

1. The South Carolina Mobile Feeding Kitchen (MFK) arrived in Pensacola o/a 4:15 p..m. and was operational at 5:15 p.m. 200 meals were served to walk ins..the MFK is preparing to distribute food tomorrow by the American Red Cross ERVs and walk‑ins also. There is a 7:00 p.m. curfew in effect in Pensacola.. The Destiny International Church (Sonshine Conf) is the support team on site.

A second team will deploy from South Carolina on Wednesday to support the MFK.

2. North Carolina Conference‑ A MFK support team will deploy on Wednesday (Kinston First) to support the MFK. A second support team (Glad Tidings PHC) will deploy on Friday. NC DRUSA is preparing to delivery food stuffs to Cornerstone Conference if requested and once the disaster phase slacks off‑ they are prepared to deliver a load of furniture.

3. Sonshine Conference‑ as reported above ..The Destiny International Church team is on site with the MFK. Another team is being planned for deployment next week.

4. Georgia Conference‑no change at present‑ a tentative team to support the MFK is being planned for deployment next week.

5. Alpha Conference‑ initial report on churches damaged: (a) Brewton PHC damage to parsonage, (b) Bulloch Community PHC‑damage to sanctuary roof and extensive damage to Sunday School building and all mobile classrooms, (c) Central Chapel‑roof damage, (d) East Brewton‑ tree damage on church, (e) Harvest Christian Center‑damage to roof of new sanctuary, (f) Lighthouse Fork PHC‑damage to roof of church, (g) Flomaton PHC damage to church roof.

6. Cornerstone Conference‑Tentative MFK support team to deploy next week.

7. Upper South Carolina Conference‑ several men are expected to deploy on Wednesday to support the MFK
