The following is an Update on DRUSA activities  as of 8:00 p.m. EDT‑October 4, 2004:

A. Current Situation‑

1. No Hurricane/Tropical Storm activity to report.

2. Florida Update‑

a. Shelters‑18 general shelters with 895 evacuees and 5 special needs shelters with 132 evacuees‑ down.

b. School and Government Office Closures‑ only a few counties are reporting school and government office closures.

c. Fatalities and Injuries‑ 13 fatalities confirmed.

d. Power Outages‑ 21,993 customers without power‑down.

e. Miscellaneous‑ flooding still being reported by many counties‑‑boiled water advisories still in 36 counties.

B. IPHC Items‑

1. The South Carolina Mobile Feeding Kitchen (MFK) remains on site in Pensacola, Florida.  Warren Matthews is now the Administrator. The American Red Cross has indicated the possibility that the MFK will possibly be released on Friday. The following has been reported:

a. 3,645 meals fed today with 1,045 walk ins and  2,600 distributed by American Red Cross ERVs‑ only 2 ERVs were used today.

b. At the Pensacola site as of 10/02 a total of 69,669 meals have been served‑‑when adding the meals served in Punta Gorda during the MFK deployment there‑the total is 104,000+ meals.

2. The Cornerstone DRUSA‑Libby Condor‑ is working on a resupply truck to collect food in Cornerstone (a flyer is going out to all pastors this week on the collection)‑‑once the truck is ready it will move to the White House Fork Ministry PHC in Baybinette, Al (Alpha Conference) . At that location the pastor‑Rev Michael McRae will set up in his church a food distribution point for the surrounding community.
