The following is an Update on DRUSA activities as of 9:15 p.m. October 2, 2004: A Current Activities‑ 1. Hurricane‑Tropical Storms‑ no report. 2. Florida Update‑ a. Shelters‑ 21 general shelters with 1,318 evacuees and 6 special needs shelters with 247 evacuees. b.Fatalities and Injuries‑ 13 confirmed dead. c. Power Outages‑ 150,775. d. Miscellaneous‑ Flooding continues in a number of counties and 36 counties still have "boil water" advisories. B. IPHC Items‑ 1. The South Carolina Mobile Feeding Kitchen (MFK) remains on‑site in Pensacola, Fl. Kenny Ward (LifeSprings PHC) is the Administrator...Meals fed today where 3,506... with 2,000 being delivered by American Red Cross ERVs..1,106 to walk‑ins and 500 snacks were prepared and distributed. The American Red Cross (ARC) has notified the MFK that they will need to prepare only one meal for Sunday..and then on Monday they pick up the school feeding requirement. The MFK expects the meal account to go back up on Monday. 2.No reported changes in support of the kitchen for the weekend except the MFK team from Carrollton PHC (Ga) that arrives Sunday evening. On Monday a major change in MFK support teams will take place. Again, The ARC has indicated that they need the MFK to remain on site for next week. 3. New Horizons Conference‑ Conference DRUSA Everett Smith reports that they have tentatively located the semi to haul a food resupply to the Alpha Conference‑ (Community Worship Center in Pensacola, Fl)‑ One church‑ Shawnee PHC has donated a CONEX container of food and other pastors have committed to bring supplies to the Conference DRUSA warehouse at Tiger Mountain next week.
