The following is an Update on DRUSA activities as of 4:00 P.M. EDT‑October 1, 2004:

A. Current Situation‑

1.No hurricane/tropical storm activity to report.

2. Florida Update‑

a. Shelters‑ general shelters are 34 with 1,812 evacuees‑special shelters are 9 with 335 evacuees.

b. Fatalities‑ 12 confirmed.

c. Power Outages‑ 302,052 customers without power.

d.Floods‑ Numerous counties still report flooding.

B. IPHC Items‑

1. The South Carolina Mobile Feeding Kitchen (MFK) remains on site in Pensacola.  The American Red Cross informed The MFK that they will pick up  responsibility for feeding a school that has re‑opened ( but without food service)...and a shelter has been opened near by‑ this will add 900 meals a day. The meal requirements for The ARC ERVs remains about the same, but walk ins have declined a little.

 The American Red Cross has indicated that The MFK is needed at least through next week.

2. Sonshine Conference‑ Christian Heritage has a MFK support team on stand by.

3. Georgia Conference‑ MFK team from Carrollton PHC left today for Pensacola and will remain through Wednesday.

4. South Carolina Conference‑ The MFK #2 team will deploy to Pensacola on Monday.

5. Alpha Conference‑ Community Worship Center and The DRUSA of New Horizon are in communication dealing with a supply truck of food being readied to send from New Horizon to The Alpha Conference.
